Contingency Fee Contract
Contingency fee means that if there is no recovery, the client does not pay the expenses of prosecuting the lawsuit. The exact details of a contingency fee depends on the contract between the client and the attorney:
- If we accept your case, we will pay expenses including the filing fee, subpoenas, depositions expenses, expert fees, postage, telephone, travel and medical records. [depending on the lawsuit, such expenses will range from $10,000 to $50,000].
- If there is no recovery, you do not reimburse us for such expenses.
- If there is a recovery, the expenses are deducted from the amount of the recovery.
- After expenses are deducted, the client receives 2/3 of the remaining recovery; we receive 1/3.
There is no fee for the initial interview.
