      Nursing Home Abuse & Neglect

Nursing home abuse can show itself in many ways, including physical, emotional or neglect.  You should heed the following signs:

            blueball.gif (933 bytes) Open wounds, cuts, bruises, welts or discoloration.
    blueball.gif (933 bytes) Caretaker can not adequately explain condition.
    blueball.gif (933 bytes) Elder's sudden change in behavior.
     blueball.gif (933 bytes) Loss of weight.                                                          
               blueball.gif (933 bytes) Burns caused by cigarettes, caustics, acids.

               blueball.gif (933 bytes) Emotionally upset or agitated.
            blueball.gif (933 bytes) Extremely withdrawn & non-communicative.
            blueball.gif (933 bytes) Unusual behavior [sucking, biting, rocking].

            blueball.gif (933 bytes) Dehydration, malnutrition, pressure sores.
               blueball.gif (933 bytes) Poor personal hygiene.

     blueball.gif (933 bytes) Unsanitary and unclean conditions.
